What's new in Asphodel

01

The Sacred Way

A new PvP world for P2 level 102 players, and the only place to get uber keys. Fissures crack open down the road. Follow one and its bloodline climbs out, kill what comes for Ichor, and walk back into the meadow to bank it before someone takes it off you.

02

Avatars and the Warden of the Ash

Offer 100 Ichor at the Netherite Shrine to fight an uber's Avatar in its own lair. Each kill is one fragment, and five fragments forge that uber's key. Ring a bell in the Pale Bazaar or the Dark Reach to wake the Warden of the Ash, a world boss that sleeps on the road.

03

The Hunter tree

Hunter Points are now Hunter XP, and every monster and boss kill counts. Each Hunter Level is one point in a 132 node tree with a cap of 100, so you can never take all of it. Keystones like Rhythm Strike and Unbowed change how you fight.

The Erebus Pit, rebuilt

Erebus Guards come out of new guardhouses in squads of four, and some carry crossbows or cast spells. Dying in the pit only drops what you picked up there. Kill 25,000 guards as a server and the seal over the lower pit breaks for everyone.

05

Erebus, the Unlit

Under the seal is the lower pit: five river springs, each with its own guards. Kill enough in the pit and Erebus, the Unlit wakes. It drops jewel crafting items found nowhere else, a new weapon trim and the first kill effect.

06

Jewel crafting at the Confluence

Five new jewel crafting items drop in the Erebus Pit, and each one does something different to a jewel at the Confluence, an altar in the lower pit. Work out what they do yourself. Jewels now have 4 sockets.

07

New boss fights

All four bosses have new fights in rebuilt arenas, and every uber now fights through a lair of its own. Boss health is shown in full, and their hits land for the damage they list. The rest is for you to find in the arena.

08

A faster wormhole

Your pickaxe or gear stays in the wormhole until its Ancient Energy runs out. Left-click any option on the ring to roll it, sneak-click to spend dust to 100%, and drop a whole set in at once. Every 10 to 12 rolls a Surge turns up.

Excavation

Finds have their own models now. A dial fills as you brush, a gold seal shows through the sediment, and the recovered piece flies into your hands. A Buried Engine pays up to 3.5m Ancient Energy in the netherite mine.

Every mine, relit

Each mine has its own Greek theme and landmarks: the Cyclopes' Foundry in Iron, Poseidon's Grotto in Lapis, Ares' Armoury in Redstone, the Temple of Apollo in Gold, the Frozen Vault of Boreas in Diamond and the Garden of the Hesperides in Emerald. Guards stand at new posts, and Hitmen chase you through Emerald.

The Molten Harbour

The netherite mine is a new world. You arrive on top of the Pharos lighthouse, face to face with a bronze Colossus, and follow the quay to one great entrance and 17 caverns of ancient debris.

12

Cavernheart and the Calcite Caverns

Ride a miners' cage down the Great Shaft into a giant amethyst geode, with the Calcite Wormhole on a salt dais under a crystal crown. Up in the caverns, a Miners' Road passes 62 landmarks carved into the rock.

Outposts and pets

The outposts are rebuilt, and /outpost shows them as signal fires on a frontier map. Pets are new: they level up to 100 as you mine and fight, and they follow you around where everyone can see them.

Autumn in Asphodel

Spawn is a floating harvest town about half again the size of the old island. The overworld sits at a permanent sunset, the colosseum is set for a night at the games, and the Polis is a ghost town at midnight.

Drawn menus

With the resource pack on, most menus are redrawn: /warp is a chart of the underworld, /ah is the Agora, /boss is the Hall of Trials, /fund is a treasury filling with molten gold. Boss bars, the sidebar and the tab list are drawn too.

The Asphodel crate

A new Ancient Crate in /store with 12 guaranteed items and a jackpot roll. A lantern coffer lowers in front of you and each item rides out of the fire into its own lantern.

Full patch notes

TL;DR

  • The Sacred Way. A PvP world for P2 level 102 players and the only source of uber keys. Kill fissure creatures for Ichor, raise uber Avatars in their own lairs, forge keys from fragments, and wake the Warden of the Ash.
  • Hunter XP and the Hunter tree. Every monster and boss kill levels you. 132 nodes, a cap of 100 points, keystones like Rhythm Strike and Unbowed.
  • The Erebus Pit is rebuilt. Guard squads march out of guardhouses as melee, crossbows or mages. At 25,000 server-wide kills the seal breaks and opens the lower pit.
  • Erebus, the Unlit. A new boss under the seal in the lower pit. It drops jewel crafting items found nowhere else, a new weapon trim and the first kill effect.
  • Jewel crafting at the Confluence. Five new jewel crafting items from the Erebus Pit, used at a new altar in the lower pit. Jewels now have 4 sockets.
  • New fights for every boss. All four bosses and all four ubers have new fights and rebuilt arenas, and each uber fights through its own lair.
  • The wormhole is much faster. Your item stays in until its energy runs out, and every option rolls from one click.
  • Every mine is relit in its own Greek theme, the netherite mine is a new world called the Molten Harbour, and Cavernheart is rebuilt as a salt mine geode.
  • Drawn menus. Most menus, boss bars, the sidebar and the tab list are redrawn with the resource pack.
  • Halloween. Spawn is a floating harvest town, the overworld sits at permanent sunset, and the Polis is a ghost town at midnight.
  • New rank names, a rebuilt quest log with 17 quest lines, a new tutorial in the Harvest Tree, and new-player PvP protection.

The Sacred Way

The Road & Fissures

  • New: The Sacred Way, a PvP world for P2 level 102 players and the only place to get uber keys. Use /warp sacred.
  • The Sacred Way runs south through six zones. The North Meadows at the start are safe. Past the first neck everyone can fight.
  • Kills on the Sacred Way pay Ichor, more the further south you go.
  • Roadside shrines line the road, a different kind in each zone, and a gateway in each zone's own style spans it.
  • Fissures crack open along the Sacred Way. Stand near the glowing head of one and it crawls on, and creatures climb out as you follow it. It ends in a maw that throws out a champion. Kill it and the maw bursts with Ichor straight into your bag.
  • Seven fissures are open at a time, each under a column of light. Fissures further south have tougher creatures and pay more Ichor.
  • Each fissure belongs to one bloodline: Lamia, Echidna, Thanatos or Hephaestus.
  • New fissure creatures: the Coil Guard and Mirror Siren in Lamia fissures, the Brood Carrier and Web Weaver in Echidna fissures, the Deathless in Thanatos fissures and the Bronze Hulk in Hephaestus fissures.

Ichor, the Shrine & the Vault

  • Offer 100 Ichor at the Netherite Shrine to raise an uber's Avatar. Killing it puts 1 fragment of that uber straight into your bag.
  • 5 fragments of one uber forge that uber's key at the Pavilion Vault in the meadow.
  • Anything you carry past the first neck, Ichor or fragments, drops if you die. Your gear is always safe. Walk back into the meadow to bank it in your vault.
  • Leaving the Sacred Way past the first neck any other way (a warp, /spawn, logging out, switching servers) drops what you carry where you stand. Warps ask first.
  • Take Ichor out of the vault for the shrine, or fragments to trade. Fragments and keys trade like any item.

Avatars

  • New: Avatars of the four uber bosses, raised at the Sacred Way shrine. Each is a smaller copy of its uber with 50,000 health, and only the player who raised it can hurt it.
  • Each Avatar fights in its own lair, reached by dropping through the crack at the shrine: Lamia in the Petrified Grotto, Echidna in the Brood Nest, Thanatos in the Candle Crypt and Hephaestus in the Forge of the Deep.
  • The Lamia, Echidna, Thanatos and Hephaestus Avatars each have a rare new enchant hidden in their loot.
  • If the player who raised an Avatar dies or leaves, anyone can finish it within 30 seconds and claim it.
  • Only one Avatar fight runs at a time in each place. Offer while someone else is fighting and you wait in line, with 90 seconds to come back when the shrine calls you. A waiting offering goes back to your vault if you log out, leave the Sacred Way or miss your turn.
  • Creatures an Avatar raises pay no Ichor.

Warden of the Ash

  • New: the Warden of the Ash, a world boss that sleeps on the Sacred Way. Sneak and ring one of the four bells in the Pale Bazaar or the Dark Reach to wake it for 100 Ichor. Only one is awake at a time, and after it dies the bells stay silent for 30 minutes.
  • The Warden has 128 times a Wraith's health and scales with the level cap.
  • Everyone who deals at least 10% of the Warden's health gets 150 Ichor in their bag, and the top damage dealer also gets a random uber fragment. Like any carried haul, it drops if you die before banking it.

The Polis & Shades

  • New: private Polis runs with area levels in place of the old T1 to T8 tiers. Pick any level up to your mining level, and enemies, Hunter XP and loot scale with it. Lower levels stay open for easier runs and earlier boss essences. A run closes once it has sat empty for 5 minutes.
  • Every shade and wraith now hits on its own timer, once per 1 second each, and each hit deals 80% less damage than before.
  • Shades and Wraiths now have 2.5x health and no damage reduction. Their reach is now 3 blocks, down from 4.
  • Shade and Wraith loot shares one level-based list. You can preview the drops and their level requirements before you go in.
  • Monster Hunter and every other increased damage bonus now apply to all sword and axe hits on Shades and Wraiths.
  • Defensive armour enchants and offhands, like Cactus, Acid Blood, Painkiller and Aether Aegis, the PvE damage reduction on Spectral, Olympian and Skipstone trims, and Shockwave knockback now work against Shades and Wraiths.
  • Trim Removers are 3x rarer from Shades and Wraiths, Spectral Trim is about 5x rarer overall, and Enchant Dust drops 5% of the time, down from 9%.
  • New: ranged shades and wraiths. A Polis pack is all melee, all archers or all mages (Frost, Flame or Storm). They have 60% of a melee one's health.
  • Erebus Tear waves now bring archers and mages too.
  • Requiem Powder no longer clears Erebus Tear shades, so every wave has to be killed, and it is not used up when nothing in range can be cleared.

The Hunter Tree

  • Hunter Points are now Hunter XP. You no longer spend them. XP raises your Hunter Level, and every level gives you one point for your tree.
  • Every monster and boss kill gives Hunter XP: shades, wraiths, Erebus Guards, Sacred Way creatures and Avatars, both Wardens and bosses.
  • Everyone who does a real share of a boss's damage now gets half the boss's Hunter XP. The summoner still gets the full amount.
  • Open your tree with /hunter. It has 132 nodes and the level cap is 100, so you can never take all of it. Choose your path.
  • Small nodes give more damage, less damage taken, loot luck, doubled drops, movement speed in hunting grounds or more Hunter XP. All of them work on every monster and boss, never on players.
  • Other nodes include Overkill, Bone Ward, Decoy and Hunter's Sight, and the keystones include Rhythm Strike and Unbowed.
  • /hunter chest opens a chest view of the tree, which Bedrock players and players without the resource pack get by default.
  • A respec refunds every point and costs money. The price goes up with your Hunter Level.
  • The old /hunter perk shop is gone.
  • Hephaestus kills now pay 8,000 Hunter XP, down from 10,000.
  • /huntertop now ranks Hunters by the total Hunter XP they've earned this season.

The Erebus Pit

  • Each of the 8 platforms in the Erebus Pit now holds a squad of 4 Erebus Guards that rise from a guardhouse behind it. A squad is all melee, all Erebus Marksmen with crossbows, or all Erebus Frost, Flame or Storm Mages.
  • Erebus Guards now have 500 health, up from 200, deal 50% less damage per hit and no longer have damage reduction. Marksmen and mages have 300 health.
  • A squad comes back together 15 seconds after its last guard dies. On Map 3 each guard came back on its own 30 seconds after it died.
  • The Erebus Pit is now lit.
  • The guardhouses and forecourts count as part of the pit, so PvP, lockboxes and guard fights there follow the same rules as inside the ring.
  • Gear made for Shades now works on Erebus Pit guards too: Wraithheart's bonus damage, Soul Siphon and Spectral Detonation, the Spectral and Skipstone set bonuses, and Detonate on swords and axes.
  • The Erebus Pit no longer has a deathban. Dying there now only drops what you picked up since you entered. You keep your gear and everything you brought in.
  • In the Erebus Pit, loot that doesn't fit in a full inventory now drops at your feet instead of going to your /stash. Only you can pick it up for 30 seconds.
  • /warp pit and the warp menu's Pit tile now work from the Forgotten Polis.
  • Erebus Pit ring guards have a new loot table, with jewel crafting items, the Emberfall armour and pickaxe trims, Orbs of Moros, Crude Ore Cores and a new offhand. Most kills drop nothing.
  • Enchant Dust, the Kill Tracker, Meteor and Meteorite Shower Flares, Forge Fuel, armour and weapon expander boxes, the Mystery Boss Key, the Trim Remover and the Global Booster Box no longer drop from Erebus Pit guards.
  • Erebus Guard drops now stay hidden in /loot and the /rng meter until someone finds them, the same as boss drops.
  • Erebus Guard kills now pay the /daily bonus drop.

The Lower Pit

  • The centre of the Erebus Pit is sealed at the start of the map. Every Erebus Guard anyone kills counts toward breaking it, and at 25,000 kills it breaks for the whole server and stays open for the rest of the map. Until then there are no elites, no Erebus and the Confluence won't take a jewel.
  • Level 102+ is strongly recommended for the lower pit, and there is no way back up.
  • The Confluence has a river running into it for each of the five waters, each ending at its own spring.
  • The lower pit is guarded by 25 named elites in five watches, one at each river spring: Lampads, Erinyes and Harpies. Each has 1,600 health and comes back 45 seconds after it dies.
  • Elites drop jewel crafting items and a stronger tier of the new offhand, and can drop a new pet. Each watch drops more of one crafting item.
  • Elite kills count for pit quests, the season pass, clue steps and the daily Erebus kill bonus.

Jewel Crafting at the Confluence

  • Added 5 new jewel crafting items. They drop in the Erebus Pit and are used at the Confluence, a new altar in the lower pit.
  • Right-click the Confluence, put a cut jewel and a crafting item on the altar, and press Begin the ritual. Your jewel comes back when it ends. One player can use the altar at a time.
  • Stay within 8 blocks of the altar until the ritual ends. Leaving, dying or logging out uses up the item and leaves your jewel as it was.
  • A jewel on the altar is not safe: if you die, it drops with the rest of your items, and if you log out in combat it drops where you stood. Any other logout sends it to your /stash.
  • Some rituals call up Erebus mages. Monsters raised by a ritual drop nothing and don't count for quests, clues, the pass or the wake bar.

Erebus, the Unlit

  • Erebus, the Unlit sleeps in the lower pit. Kills in the pit fill a bar: a ring guard counts 1, a lower pit monster 5, and 1,250 wakes it.
  • Everyone who deals at least 10% of its health gets 3 picks of its loot and a roll for the new pet. If you are offline when it dies, or the server restarts mid-fight, your share waits for your next login.
  • Each pick can be a jewel crafting item, a new kill effect, the top tier of the new offhand or a new weapon trim. Two of the crafting items drop only from Erebus.
  • A new weapon trim for swords and axes drops from Erebus, the Unlit.
  • Kill effects are a new cosmetic category in /cosmetics. The first one drops from Erebus, the Unlit.
  • The lower Erebus Pit has two new unique jewels hidden in its loot.
  • Mob aura hits Erebus, the Unlit.

Bosses

  • Bosses no longer have hidden damage reduction, and boss attacks now hit for their full listed damage. The health bar now shows their full health.
  • The four normal bosses now pierce 20% of your armour.
  • Boss health: Lamia 4,000, Echidna 9,000, Thanatos 16,000, Hephaestus 25,000.
  • Boss damage: Thanatos melee is 14.5, up from 8.75, and his Ashen Runes deal 120, down from 150. Echidna Fang Strike is 37, up from 30, and her bite and venom spit deal about 15% less.
  • Bosses no longer go fully immune during their big moves. They take 90% less damage instead.
  • Swords and axes deal 3x damage to bosses, including their procs. Stunned bosses no longer take bonus damage.
  • Hephaestus, Thanatos, Echidna and Lamia each have a new fight.
  • The Grappling Trinket now works in boss arenas during your fight.
  • If the server restarts during a boss fight, you get your boss key back.
  • The boss hub is lit and dressed up, and each boss has a new altar and portal gate.
  • Every boss arena is relit and far more detailed.
  • /spawn, /warp, /hub, the warp menu and /boss leave now take you out of a boss arena at once. Falling off an arena pulls you back to the middle of the fight instead of the void.

Talos & Keys

  • Talos now has one upgrade level from 0 to 85, bought with money instead of Hunter Points. The separate speed and completion upgrades are gone.
  • Each boss stops improving at its own Talos level: Lamia 25, Echidna 45, Thanatos 65, Hephaestus 85. At a boss's max level a run takes 25 minutes with a 70% success chance.
  • Talos energy per run is now 250,000 for Lamia, 750,000 for Echidna, 1,500,000 for Thanatos and 3,000,000 for Hephaestus.
  • Talos now costs $1,000,000 to unlock. Open /talos or its button in /boss to buy it.
  • The Boss Shop is gone. Boss keys now only drop.
  • Erebus Crates no longer hold uber keys. Uber keys now come from the Sacred Way.

Uber Bosses

  • Each uber boss has a new fight in its own arena: Uber Echidna in her den, Uber Thanatos in his court, Uber Hephaestus in the heart of a volcano and Uber Lamia in her palace.
  • Every uber boss now has 100,000 health.
  • Every uber boss kill now drops 1 item from that boss's pool: one of its uniques, an Exceptional orb, a Jewel Truing Stone or a Reforging Sigil. Each kill can also drop a Godly Booster Box.
  • Uber boss kills no longer get the daily boss bonus, and they no longer use up any of your 10 daily bonus kills.
  • Luck now raises your odds of getting an uber's unique or Exceptional orb. Every uber boss has 2 uniques.
  • New hidden loot: a pet from Uber Echidna, a unique jewel from Uber Lamia, a weapon trim from Uber Hephaestus and an enchant from Uber Thanatos.

Tartarus Rift

  • New rift block: the Catalyst Geode, the rarest block in the rift, found deep in the mine. Breaking it turns the stone around it into a burst of special blocks, and Starforges and Rift Wisps can appear when it blooms.
  • New rift block: the Starforge. Breaking it raises every enchant on your rift pickaxe that is below its max by 1 level.
  • New rift block: the Rift Wisp. Breaking it breaks the 10 special blocks nearest to it within 32 blocks, as if you broke them.
  • Rift Marks are now paid into two balances, and every mark is credited in full to both. Tree Marks buy skill tree nodes and Shop Marks buy Rift Caches. The Rift Prestige refund goes to your Tree Marks.
  • Every ore a Cascading Vein clears now pays its full money value and 20% of the energy it gives when mined, into /rift claim.
  • Cascade Surge I and II now show their real chance: 12% each for +1 radius.
  • Stone broken by Shatter in the rift now scores 1 point (was about 7).

Quests

  • The quest log is rebuilt: 17 quest lines and 138 steps replace the old quests.
  • New: a contract board in the quest menu with 3 daily and 3 weekly contracts. The third contract of each set unlocks once the first two are claimed. Dailies reset at 11 AM PT and weeklies on Friday at 11 AM PT, and an unclaimed contract is lost at the reset.
  • First Light is the opening quest line, through the tutorial. Its finale pays 200,000 Ancient Energy, the Miner title, a Simple Contraband and an Enchanting Supply Box.
  • Every quest line ends in a finale that pays a title and items. There are 17 new quest titles. Quest Ancient Energy rewards scale with how long a step takes and how far you have progressed.
  • After The Descent, Altar Work opens at level 80, The Old Games at level 75 and The Agora at level 60. The Long Way Back and The Hundredth Edge open at prestige 1, and The Long Way Back resets each time you prestige.
  • The Unbound opens with Down the Way: summon and kill 4 Avatars on the Sacred Way.
  • New quest line: The Golden Toll, guided by Janus at the Sacred Way pavilion. Opens at Prestige 2, mining level 102. Earn Ichor and fragments from Avatar kills, then qualify on a Warden of the Ash kill for the finale.
  • Removed Dolos and The Hollow Bargain questline.
  • You can pick which quest line the boss bar tracks from the quest menu.
  • Clue Casket XP bottles are smaller: Legendary 7.5M to 11M (was 24M to 36M), Uncommon 9,000 to 17,000 (was 21,000 to 39,000), Simple 1,500 to 2,600 (was 7,200 to 13,200).
  • Clue scroll boss damage tasks now ask for 2,000 to 12,000 damage, up from 500 to 3,000.

Tutorial & New Players

  • The tutorial is a new world, the Harvest Tree: a giant autumn tree in a river valley. The road runs from the Lost Miner past the storytellers to Echidna, and out through a door in the trunk.
  • A practice yard on the tutorial road hands you a Practice Wand once you reach level 10. Beat its three shades for essence, turn it into a practice key and fight Echidna for about 30 seconds. She can't kill you.
  • Tutorial ore gives a flat 3 mining XP per block, so level 10 takes about 300 blocks on any day.
  • The tutorial has 3 storytellers, each with a gift: the Enchanter gives 50,000 Ancient Energy, the Prospector a 30 minute x1.25 Ore Booster and the Quartermaster The Quartermaster's Boots.
  • You can't die in the tutorial. Leave through the exit portal or with /skip. Your first enchant is at the wormhole at spawn.
  • The Descent opens as soon as you leave the tutorial, does not wait on the Fund, and finishes at level 45. Every quest line pays its rewards the moment you finish a step, with nothing to claim.
  • The Meet the Spawn Guides step asks you to talk to the 7 guides around spawn, Surtr included, for 150,000 Ancient Energy.
  • Surtr gives 100,000 Ancient Energy the first time you talk to him. Dusty hands new players 2 Simple Jewels (no longer Calcified Dust), and Midas adds a Simple Clue Scroll to his gift.
  • The Rift Keeper's welcome and 7,500 starter Rift Marks are given again after a season reset.
  • New: players new to the server can't attack or be attacked by other players for their first 30 minutes of play. Time in the tutorial does not count, and duels, Skywars, KOTH and raids ignore the protection. /pvp shows how long your protection lasts, and /pvp on ends it early.
  • The TikTok, YouTube and Instagram kit boxes are now a small starter box: 3 rolls of early-game items and a small chance at an Elite Booster Box or a Seasonal Rank Box. Saw a number on one of our videos? Type /kit and that number to claim the same kit.

Cells, Gangs & Outposts

  • Gen blocks broken by Shatter or Powerball now give the full XP and Ancient Energy a hand break gives.
  • Condensed Crude Ore now pays the same Gang Points per block mined as normal crude. One condensed block is now worth exactly ten normal ones.
  • Defensive armour enchants, trims and offhands now work against cell Frost Mages and Lightning Mages.
  • Jewel leech from enchant procs no longer works on cell guards.
  • Armour above a cell's tier no longer comes off when you enter that cell. It stays on you but does nothing there. You can warp to any cell wearing it, Ancient Mannequins hold gear of any tier in any cell, and the Wardrobe can put such a set on you inside the cell.
  • Leather and copper armour now count as Low Security cell gear.
  • The Idle outpost's PvE damage reduction is now 10%, down from 25%.
  • Gang names can no longer contain slurs, hate terms, sexual words, swearing or staff names.

PvP & Dueling

  • Skywars now unlocks at Fund I, down from Fund II.
  • Skywars swords, axes and armour now roll from every PvP enchant for their slot, and chests no longer roll Calcite enchants or enchants that only work in PvE or mining.
  • Trim Removers are 3x rarer in Skywars Champion Boxes.
  • Weapon trim leech and Jewel leech from enchant procs no longer work on combat loggers.

Enchants

New, Removed & Renamed

  • New axe enchant Rupture: a hit on a bleeding target can tear the bleed open, landing every remaining tick at once for triple damage. It procs 8% plus 4% per level.
  • New axe enchant Earthsplitter: a hit can send a 6-block fissure along your facing, hitting every enemy on the line for 150% of your weapon's base damage per level (450% at level III) and launching them into the air.
  • New Legendary armour enchant Vitality I-IV: regenerate 0.05 health per second per level. The highest piece counts, and it works in PvP.
  • The Haggler, Axeman and Swordsman enchants have been removed.
  • The lowest enchant rarity is now called Simple, renamed from Common.
  • Chronostone is now a Special pickaxe enchant and is no longer a pickaxe trim. It costs no Ancient Energy to apply and can never be removed.
  • Mystery Godly Enchant Orbs now reveal low levels more often and high levels less often.

Combat

  • Lifesteal now Leeches 0.2% of damage per level (1% at V), down from 1.5% (7.5% at V), and only heals off your own swings.
  • Resilience now shortens and weakens every harmful effect other players put on you, including bleeds, poison, Soul Rot, fire, Weakness, Silence, Trap, Daze, Dominate and the Voodoo curse, plus harmful effects from Shades, Wraiths, guards, cell mages and bosses. At level V they last 30% shorter and hit 30% weaker.
  • Silence now blocks every defensive armour Proc, adding Riposte, Deflect, Bulwark, Blood Magic, Painkiller, Adrenaline, Composure, Cactus, Shockwave, Consecration, Voodoo and Unknown. On a Resilience wearer it is partial and only blocks part of each defensive proc.
  • Frostbite chills last longer at higher levels: 1.33s at I, 2.67s at II and the same 4s at III.
  • Fling now works on swords only.
  • Aegis now also reduces Scorch, Perfect Strike, Molecular Harvester and Rejuvenate procs against you.
  • Armour trim proc chance now also boosts Bleed, Rupture, Earthsplitter, Perfect Strike, Molecular Harvester and Rejuvenate.
  • Deflect can now also negate Frostblade, Weakness, Famine, Silence, Dominate, Fling, Daze and Perfect Strike.
  • Sword and axe enchants and Frenzy now only proc or build from your own swings, not from Melee Splash, Judgment, Detonate or 'of the Whirlwind' hits. Predator, Giant Slayer and your jewel damage bonuses no longer apply twice to those hits.
  • Honed now only boosts melee swings. Deathbringer and Riposte are now only spent by a swing or a wand or bow shot, not by damage over time, splash hits or your Bound Shade.
  • Spell Echo now gives 50% more cast time. The repeat is still free, so it adds about a third more damage instead of doubling it.
  • Enlighten now heals back 100% of the damage taken, down from 200%, based on the health and absorption the hit actually took. Eternal Enlightenment now works like Enlighten levels IV to VII: 5.9% chance at I rising to 9.8% at IV, healing 100% of the damage taken at every level.

Monsters & Bosses

  • Judgment and Melee Splash now deal their full share of the hit against bosses, and Judgment bolts count toward your damage in the fight.
  • Monster Hunter now works on bosses and their adds with every weapon, alongside shades, wraiths and Erebus Guards. Sword and axe Monster Hunter no longer boosts damage to cell guards, stationary guards and other non-player NPCs.
  • More enchants now work on Shades, Wraiths and Erebus Guards: Execute (below 50% health), Judgment, Melee Splash, Electrocution, Maneuver, and Deathbringer and Riposte on wand and bow shots. Enchant procs now leech life off them, and Giant Slayer uses their real max health.
  • Detonate blasts now deal 10% of the dead enemy's max health, down from 25%.

Mining

  • Armour enchants can now add up to 30% ore sell value, down from 45%.
  • Shatter I now has a 0.2% proc chance, rising 0.16% a level to the same 1% at Shatter VI.
  • Lucky and Cavern Luck now raise the chance of every Proc enchant on the same item, except Fault Line.
  • Mining bots now apply their pickaxe's Lucky and Cavern Luck to Treasure Hunter.

The Wormhole

  • Enchanting at the wormhole is much faster. Your pickaxe or gear now stays in the wormhole until it runs out of Ancient Energy, and each left-click rolls the option you're looking at. The option you click comes back as the same enchant with a new chance, until that enchant is maxed.
  • Sneak and left-click an option to spend dust and take it to 100%, then roll it. Dust comes out of your Dust Satchels first, then loose Enchant Dust. Dust you drop onto the ring goes to the next roll, and any left over carries to the roll after.
  • Click Take out or walk away to get your item back early with its unspent Ancient Energy. Logging out or using /hub no longer burns the energy either. Its options, and any dust still on them, are saved for the next time you drop it in.
  • Drop your whole set in at once. Each piece drops in when the one before it is done.
  • Every 10 to 12 rolls, the next new option is a Surge: either double levels if it lands, or a free 100% roll.
  • Enchant Rerolls are 4x rarer from every source: contrabands, shards, clue caskets, loot boxes, rank kits, quests, the AFK shop, the Fate Oracle and GKits.
  • Enchant Catalysts no longer work in the wormhole. They still save a failed enchant orb.
  • Calcite Wormhole attempts on armour, weapons, wands and bows cost more. Levels I and II stay cheap, and the price climbs from there: Cavern Luck is now 1, 2.5, 6.3, 15.8, 39.8 and 100M per attempt (was 1, 1.9, 3.6, 6.9, 13.1 and 25M), and Eternal Enlightenment IV is 100M. Pickaxes are unchanged.
  • The Calcite Wormhole now lets you stack up to 10% Calcified Dust boost per session, up from 5%.

Pickaxe Prestige & Perks

  • New pickaxe prestige perk Debris Field: Powerball can now proc on a meteorite, sending a ball through the terrain to tear 8 to 16 ore out of each of up to 3 other meteorites within 50 blocks and pay you for it. With Swarm, it launches the extra balls too.
  • New pickaxe prestige perk Spall: Shatter can now proc on a meteorite, shearing 25 to 40 ore off the rock in one swing.
  • New pickaxe prestige perk Thunderhead: mining a meteorite can call a storm that drops 11 to 16 lightning bolts across every meteorite within 40 blocks, yours included, and each bolt pays you a full swing of ore and energy.
  • New pickaxe prestige perk Starlens: mining a meteorite can open a lens in the sky that burns a beam through the farthest meteorite within 90 blocks for 15 to 26 ore and pays you for it. With no other meteorite in reach, it hits the rock under your pickaxe for the same amount.
  • Twinned now triggers only when Shatter, Powerball, Super Breaker, Feed or Earthquake procs, and fires one of the others.
  • Second Chance and Overcharge now use the same five enchants, so Earthquake counts and Transfuse no longer does. Second Chance now repeats Super Breaker by extending the run.
  • Core Breach now fires every 15th Shatter, up from every 20th.
  • Barrage now fires every 120 blocks, up from every 150.
  • Swarm now rolls +40% to +75% balls, up from +30% to +60%.
  • Overcharge now rolls 10 to 19 per 1,000 blocks, up from 8 to 15.
  • Second Chance now rolls 15% to 25%, up from 11% to 19%.
  • Amplified Odds now rolls 21% to 31% increased proc chance, up from 16% to 24%.
  • The pickaxe Perks and Base Stats guide lists every perk and its range: a perk at P1, P5 and P10, a base stat at the other levels up to P9, and a Tartarus perk at P11.

Jewels

  • There are now 4 jewel sockets, up from 3. The second socket unlocks at prestige 1, the third at prestige 2 and the fourth at prestige 3.
  • New jewel line of Renewal: regenerate up to 0.1 health per second per jewel.
  • The of the Alchemist jewel now pays its rolled percent instead of a flat 5%, and Alchemist jewels in more than one socket add together.
  • The 'of Immolation' jewel now explodes for 10% of the dead enemy's max health, down from 25%.
  • Jewel crit chance and crit multiplier now work against Shades and Wraiths, and damage, crit, leech and Whirlwind lines now work against Erebus Guards.
  • Reforging Sigils now follow the stat weights, so a rare stat is as rare on a reforge as on a fresh cut.
  • Unique jewels can no longer be fused, scrapped or used in the Jewel Loadout Expander.
  • Jewel stat tiers now lean toward the lower tiers on cut jewels, Reforging Sigils and Omphalos.

Weapons, Trims & Offhands

Weapons & Leech

  • Axes now have the same base damage as swords of the same tier, up from about 20% less.
  • Wand and bow shots cost Ancient Energy in line with what players earn at each tier: gold and iron are about 4x cheaper to fire, wood is about 30% cheaper, diamond about 40% cheaper, and netherite costs about 30% more.
  • Wands deal 20% less base damage and bows 10% less, at every tier. A netherite wand now hits for 1.78 (was 2.22) and a netherite bow for 2.68 (was 2.98).
  • Skipping Stone now only skips off a wand beam kill, for half that beam's damage, and skips on to the next enemy after a Shade kill.
  • Leech is lower on every source: - Skipstone wand trim: 0.25% of wand damage, down from 1%. - Olympian weapon trim: 0.25%, down from 1.5%. - Orb of Moros weapon implicit: 0.1 to 0.25%, down from 0.5 to 1%. Existing rolls drop to a quarter. - Leech jewels: of Vampirism tops out at 0.25%, of the Bloodletter at 0.5% and the one-weapon lines at 0.75%, a sixth of before. Existing jewels drop by the same amount. - Wraithheart Soul Siphon: 0.4% at Tier II and 0.75% at Tier III, down from 1.5% and 3%.
  • Life leech now counts all the damage you deal to bosses, ubers, the Avatars and big fissure creatures.

Trims & Set Bonuses

  • The Riftborn pickaxe trim no longer has Powerball Echo.
  • Rift Wound bursts from a full Nyx's Shroud set now deal 20% of the banked damage, down from 30%. Wounds bank each hit after your damage bonuses and critical hits, and only from your swings and wand or bow shots. On bosses and players a burst deals its share of the banked damage instead of an extra copy of your swing.
  • Wraithheart's Spectral Detonation now deals 10% of the dead enemy's max health, down from 25%.
  • Wrath of Thanatos Soul Rot, Hephaestus's Spark Heat and the Thanatos and Hephaestus full set abilities now only build from melee swings. Wands, bows and enchant procs no longer count.
  • Weapon trim ignite, Forgeheat, Galvanize and Zeus's Wrath now only roll on your swings and your wand or bow shots, not on splash hits or damage over time.
  • Rift Wound now bursts on Shades, Wraiths and Erebus Guards, Zeus's Wrath hits Erebus Guards for 50 damage each, and Wraithheart's Soul Siphon leeches life off enchant procs on Shades and Wraiths.

Offhands

  • A new offhand drops in the Erebus Pit, in three tiers.
  • Gravecall is renamed Usurper. Killing a Shade or Wraith gives it a spectral style for 30 seconds, and your hits with any weapon release a sweep, volley or mage burst. It is also rarer from low tier Erebus Tears: Tier 3 tears drop it half as often, and the rate climbs each tier up to Tier 8, which is unchanged.
  • Lamia's Veil: the 30 second cooldown now starts when the effect ends.
  • The /offhand tinker upgrade has been removed. Tier II and tier III offhands come from drops.
  • /offhand now lets you preview every offhand, including ones you don't own yet, with all its tiers, their stat ranges and your own roll.

Bound Shade

  • Your Bound Shade attacks enemies near it on its own, at your weapon's pace. Its hits no longer set off your 'of the Whirlwind' splash.
  • A killed Bound Shade takes 30 seconds to reform, up from 6.

Pets

  • New: pets. They drop as rare certificates, earn XP as you mine and fight, level up to 100, and follow you around. Manage them in /pets. /pets hide hides yours for everyone.
  • Rarer pets need more XP to level. Level 100 takes 1x the XP at Simple, 1.15x Uncommon, 1.3x Elite, 1.5x Ultimate, 1.75x Legendary, 2x Godly, 2.5x Divine and 3x Exceptional.
  • A new pet drops in the Erebus Pit.

Mines & Mining

Mines & Guards

  • The Netherite Mine is a brand new world, the Molten Harbour, with one great entrance and 17 caverns of ancient debris.
  • Every mine is now lit and decorated in its own theme: Coal has the Forges of Hephaestus, Iron is the Cyclopes' Foundry, Lapis is Poseidon's Grotto, Redstone is Ares' Armoury, Gold is the Temple of Apollo, Diamond is the Frozen Vault of Boreas and Emerald is the Garden of the Hesperides.
  • Mine guards are moved to watch more of each mine. Gold has 6 more Sentinels and Emerald now has 3 Hitmen. The deepslate parts of Redstone, Gold and Diamond stay unguarded.
  • Hitmen are a new kind of mine guard, posted in the Emerald mine, with half a Sentinel's health and damage.
  • Mine guards no longer have damage reduction. Sentinels now have 350 health (was 100), Guardians 3,750 (was 750) and Archons 15,000 (was 3,000).
  • Guard Frenzy: each mine guard you kill as a Villain makes guards deal 50% more damage to you, adding up with every kill, until you die as a Villain or your criminal status clears. It shows under Criminal Record on your scoreboard.

Mining

  • Every pickaxe now mines faster before enchants, so Efficiency shows a smaller number (40% increased at V) and break times with Efficiency V or higher are unchanged. Mining speed tops out at one tick per block, and /buffs shows at speed cap when you reach it.
  • Efficiency VI gives 75% increased mining speed. Momentum VI now gives 80% (was 75%) and Hermes' Pace 5% per level (was 6%).
  • Mining shard bonuses and ore bonuses now give their stated amount: a 5% shard bonus is 5% more shards on average, not double, and small ore bonuses no longer round up to a whole extra ore.
  • Mining with a rented pickaxe now pays your full sell bonuses: outpost, Goldvein, jewels, and the rented pickaxe's own sell trim and Orb of Moros implicit.
  • Meteor event blocks now pay your pickaxe trim's increased ore gain from meteorites and your meteorite energy bonuses, and landed meteorites now apply your Orb of Moros mining energy bonus.
  • /buffs now shows what mining really pays, including jewels, the real shard chance and your Orb of Moros bonuses.
  • Mining sends far less network traffic, which fixes lag and disconnects on slow connections while mining.
  • Entering the Tartarus Rift, a Skywars round or a duel now ends your pickaxe rental first and pays out the energy stored on the rented pickaxe.

Excavation

  • New: Excavation finds while mining: the Awakened Artifact, Jewel Seams, Crystal Nests and Buried Engines. Brush a find to recover it. Brushes are in /shop > Pickaxes.
  • A Buried Engine pays Ancient Energy by mine, from 100k in the coal mine to 2.5m in the emerald mine and 3.5m in the netherite mine.
  • The Excavation Brush can be enchanted in the Wormhole like a pickaxe. Its first enchant is Efficiency (up to V, 20% faster brushing per level). Each roll costs 10m energy times the brush level you are buying.

Calcite Caverns & Cavernheart

  • The Calcite Caverns are lit, with a Miners' Road of 62 landmarks, named halls, and the portal to Cavernheart under the Great Shaft.
  • Cavernheart is rebuilt as a giant amethyst geode in the salt mine, with the Calcite Wormhole inside. A miners' cage takes you down and back up to spawn, and the ride does not use Calcite time.
  • The ways through the Calcite Caverns have changed: cave-ins close some old tunnels and new galleries open others. Every climbing wall on the main ways now takes 3 to 5 froglights, and the portal takes 5.

Halloween & the Overworld

  • For Halloween, spawn is a new floating harvest town about half again the size of the old island, with a building for every guide and vendor.
  • For Halloween, the overworld sits at a permanent sunset on autumn ground, with new landmarks near the warps. St. Mary's Basilica west of Redstone and Christ the King over Iron are no-PvP sanctuaries.
  • For Halloween, the colosseum is set for a night at the games.
  • For Halloween, the Polis is a smaller ghost town at midnight, with runs starting at a new north gate.
  • The magma pools and the molten river in the volcanic east no longer burn you.

  • Trackers and Diviner's Dice now use the shared rarity names too.

  • New level cap schedule: 45, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 100, 101, 101, then 102 for four days and 103 on day 18. Prestige opens on day 12, when the cap reaches 101.
