What we collect
Playing on the server. Your Minecraft username and UUID, your IP address, and the things you do in game: playtime, progression, chat messages, commands, purchases, and moderation history. This is what running a Minecraft server involves; without it the game cannot save your progress or enforce its rules.
Linking Discord. If you run /link, we store the connection between your Minecraft account and your Discord user ID.
Submitting footage. If you upload a recording, we store the video file itself, its filename and size, the time you uploaded it, any note you add, and the Minecraft username and UUID carried by the one-time code you generated in game. You do not need a Google account and we never see one.
Visiting the website. Standard request logs kept by our host, Cloudflare, including IP address and browser user agent. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on ancients.gg.
Where it is stored
Gameplay data lives on our own server. Website records live in Cloudflare's storage. Submitted videos are uploaded directly from your browser to Google Drive, into an account owned by the server operator, the video never passes through the website's own server.
Because uploading uses the operator's Google account rather than yours, Google also processes the upload. Their handling of it is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
What we use it for
Running the game, saving your progress, preventing cheating and ban evasion, answering your support tickets, and, for submitted footage, selecting and editing clips for Ancients videos and posts.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only where we have to: with the services that host the server and website, or where the law requires it.
Footage that gets published
Footage you submit may be edited and published on Ancients channels. Anything visible in your recording, your username, your in-game chat, whatever is on your screen can end up in a public video. Please do not record anything you would not want seen, and close anything private before you hit record.
You are credited by your Minecraft username unless you ask us not to. See the submission terms for what you agree to when you upload.
How long we keep it
Gameplay and account data is kept while the server operates. Some records, bans and moderation history in particular, are kept after an account stops playing, because they exist precisely to survive someone leaving and coming back.
Submitted footage is kept as long as it is useful as edit material. Raw footage is routinely deleted once it has been cut down or judged unusable.
Removing your data
Ask, and we will remove what we reasonably can. Open a ticket in the Discord or email playancients@gmail.com from an address we can tie to your account.
Two honest limits. Footage already published in a video cannot be pulled back out of it, though we will take the raw file down and drop your credit on request. And moderation records tied to an active ban are not deleted on request, since removing them would defeat their purpose.
Age
Ancients is not aimed at children under 13. If you are under 13, or under the age at which you can agree to this on your own where you live, please do not submit footage without a parent or guardian's permission. If we learn we are holding a young child's personal data without that permission, we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the Discord rather than quietly editing the page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
