The Ancients Mod

A richer experience, never a requirement.

A small client-side mod that draws HUDs, in-game UIs, and combat numbers right in Minecraft. It's open source, safe to audit, and locked to Ancients. The entire game works without it.

  • Open source, audit it yourself

    Every line is on GitHub under the MIT license. Read it, build it yourself, or have someone you trust check it.

  • Render and UX only

    It never sends gameplay actions for you. It draws HUDs and screens; the server stays fully authoritative.

  • Locked to Ancients

    An allowlist gates it to the Ancients network. It does nothing on any other server.

  • Nothing is gated behind it

    The whole game is fully playable without it. The mod is purely a nicer experience.

Install

About two minutes.

  1. Install Fabric

    Get the Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.21.11 and drop Fabric API into your mods folder.

  2. Download the jar

    Grab the latest ancientsmod-*.jar from the download button above.

  3. Drop it in

    Move the jar into your mods folder next to Fabric API.

  4. Launch and join

    Start Minecraft on the Fabric profile and join ancients.gg.

Compatibility

It's a Fabric client mod for Minecraft 1.21.11, and runs happily alongside performance mods like Sodium and Lithium. It needs the Fabric Loader and Fabric API. It is not a Lunar Client mod and won't load inside Lunar. If you already play on Fabric, you're set.

What it adds

All visual, all optional.

  • Moveable HUDs

    Drag your booster, event, cooldown and stats overlays anywhere on screen and save the layout.

  • Floating combat numbers

    Damage and XP pop above enemies so you can read your hits at a glance.

  • Gang ping markers

    Ping a spot for your gang; everyone sees a clean world marker.

  • Rift and event HUDs

    Clean overlays for the Rift, cascades, and live events.

  • Smarter tooltips

    Collapsible, scrollable tooltips for those huge modded items.

No mod? No problem.

The mod only changes how things are drawn. Every system it surfaces is playable from vanilla chat and menus. The game is always fully playable without installing anything.
